ROLE OF ICT IN EDUCATION

The future of education within India look bright. The classroom has been made so that delivering a lecture is easier and learning of the students better. Internet itself has got a complete makeover in this decade with educational learning platforms like Byjus, Topper, simplilearn, etc. Even smart boards are used and vSat technology is used to teach students over the internet. Even if you have missed classes at the collage, you still can learn that particular course over the internet by YouTube or Khan Academy.

Education is still, even today, a teacher thing. However, going where it has not gone before, IT helps explain the concepts in science, maths and even engineering in a life like, real way. This way the student able to grasp the concept being taught better. But it is a continuous process. Each generation needs to grow the previous generation's achievements with there own ones. This is the blueprint that will lead to advancement of our nation in science and maths in schools and even in technology at a later stage.

Even the books that students study in their classrooms and homes are made using a computer. The design and layout of the page and the page size of the book are set on a computer and finally the book comes in the hand after getting printed.

There are online encyclopedias like Wikipedia that are free to use and give a wealth of information to anyone willing to learn from the website. It is a rather robust encyclopedia, which requires citation of its articles and references and the person editing an article should be certified to be a person with knowledge of the subjects. People all over find the articles of Wikipedia really informative. You cannot really learn a subject sitting on Wikipedia because that depends on your teacher, his /her delivery of material, your interest level and your intelligence for the subject. But it does help.

Last but not the least, you have e-books too. It has been found that paper books are still more preferred, but applications like Amazon Kindle are capable of storing hundreds of books and lets you read the book as if by flipping pages. You may like the Kindle more since paper books are prone to damage and have their own weight depending on page size of book and page properties.
